D: ( Disa uniflora , cardinalis, caulescens,
tripetaloides and hybrids ) Disas are better growing
outdoors in summer or in a well aerated greenhouse.
They like much light and tolerate temperatures near
0° C in winter. Several composts are suitable. For
example: 1 part pumice gravel, 1 part perlite, 0,2
part peat or peat moss. Good drainage is very
important. Plants grow in nature on streambanks or
nearby and compost should never be allowed to dry.
Fertilization should be low ( 10% of recommended
concentration). Water should be low in dissolved
salts, such as rainwate, distilled water or RO water. Dth: plants are growing well in sphagnum bog. |
